The Sound Graffs reading program follows 10 easy steps:
1. A diagnostic test pin points why your child is struggling and determines how we can help.
2. Then, our program introduces one vowel sound at a time.
3. Segmenting is practiced so your child hears individual sounds
in words which allows for identifying and manipulating sounds.
4. Blending sounds is practiced to form words.
5. Spelling is strengthened by identifying sound graffs while reading.
6. An age appropriate Dictionary and Thesaurus are used to build comprehension and vocabulary and to help write better sentences.
7. Comprehension and vocabulary are improved by reading words in context.
8. Multi-syllables are introduced by chunking words.
9. Practice writing short stories helps strengthen basic sentence structure.
10. Word endings are introduced to help students spell at an advanced level. back to top
